Dr. Amy Tung graduated the four-year program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto. She hold an Honors Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Waterloo. With an undergraduate background and interest in Science, Dr. Amy Tung, ND has always sought to bridge the gap between diagnostic testing, research and natural health.
Dr. Amy Tung believes in order to achieve harmony in the body, we need to optimize our body’s metabolic and hormonal functions. We can achieve this when we do the proper testing, which can include; food sensitivity testing, body composition analysis, individualized nutrition plans, natural hormone balancing, and advanced biochemical testing.
Dr. Amy has had a full practice in downtown Toronto and Mississauga since graduating from the Canadian Naturopathic College and has worked in several integrative medical clinics. Dr. Amy has worked along side medical doctors and adjunctive allied health care providers and believes this is important for the best care for her patients.
For six years, Dr. Amy Tung has trained with New York Times best selling author and Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Natasha Turner (author of “The Hormone Diet” Book) and learned to fine tune her skills on diagnostics and how to achieve hormone balance for her patients.
Dr. Tung has special interest in functional endocrinology (hormonal concerns for men, women and children). Her interests are in weight loss and she is additionally certified in First Line Therapy (FLT) and Intravenous Therapy (IVT). Dr. Amy further utilizes her Naturopathic tools of; Nutrition, Botanicals, Acupuncture, Diet and Lifestyle changes to teach and educate her patients – adults, teenagers and children. Dr. Amy Tung, ND currently sits on the board of the Endocrinology Association of Naturopathic Physicians (EndoANP) which represents Naturopathic Doctors in North America who focus on endocrinology.
Dr. Amy is a wife and busy mom of two young children and am constantly looking to find balance and harmony in all areas of life. When she’s not with patients, you can find her at the yoga studio, making healthy recipes or playing outdoors with her family. She is currently a writer for the EcoParent Magazine that distributes across North America and educates parents on healthy living options.
